![]() Having dragons is one thing, the point is ofcourse to attack with them. ![]() With 28 dragons in the deck right now, it should often come down as an 8/8 or 11/11. But depending on the situation, even they could be severly outclassed by a Kilnmouth Dragon. Jund is all about the food chain and at the very top there are Dragon Tyrant and Hellkite overlord, which are among the biggest things with flying you can find in the game. The dragons also have a father in there somewhere, as Scourge of Valkas celebrates every birth with an increasing amount of fire.īut we didn’t come here for the baby dragons. Mostly because she births a dragon token during every players upkeep! That’s a lot of dragons, and they have the option of eating eachother, or whatever creature you have lying around, like a stray elf that outlived it’s usefulness or maybe even a yummie Dragon Egg!ĭevouring is a risk, but with the rate the broodmother makes the tokens, it can really pay off, especially when there it’s Doubling Season. There are a couple of dragons with the devour mechanic in excistence, but she is the only one who made the cut. But more on that later.Īnother notable dragon in this deck is Dragon Broodmother. For me he signals ‘this is a dragon deck’ the best, even if there are some downsides. The ice dragon does add some political power to the deck, being able to lock down creatures as long as it’s in play.Īs for the commander itself, I settled on Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund, even though there are some other options. Unlike it’s firebreathing kin, it’s an ice-breathing dragon, and to make it work the basic lands in the deck are now snow-covered varieties, like Snow-Covered Mountain. And who knows what’s hiding up north. It should make Deanarys green with envy.Īnother card that informed on how a portion of the deck would look was Rimescale Dragon. Even though it makes the deck somewhat slow to start, one cannot argue with the fact that it makes it far more awesome! And being awesome is the goal of this deck more than anything. The main reasib is that I liked Utvara Hellkite enough to try out some dragon tribal, hoping to fill the sky with numerous flying monsters.Īs the deck developed more and more non- dragons got sidelined to make place for more dragons. if you have access to doublestrike some of these swords become INSTANTLY more relevent ( body and mind milling 20 and getting 2 wolves? sword of fire and ice drawing you two and pinging 4 damage any way you want? ) but again, it all depends what your strategy is.After making a Kaalia deck and removing most of the Dragon cards from it, in favour of Angels, I still wanted something that focussed on dragons. ![]() Thats my viewset of the swords but your milage may vary with them all. again, if i was going to cut a sword or two, this is were i'd probably start. ![]() if i was going to cut a sword this would be one of them.īody & Mind protections alright and the free 2/2 wolf token on damage is.alright? ( means your able to leave a blocker up after you swing ) the mil 10 is a bit fickle - it could even help some decks out, so just be wary of who you slam into with this one, especially if they run a lot of recursion or are running the gitrog monster. interesting? it can be really useful, but its probably one of the more fickle of the bunch. War & Peace Protections are alright ( essentially reads pro swords to ploushares and path to exile ) and the lifegain for cards in hand + lifelose for cards in opponants hand is. i rank Light and shadows higher then the other swords because of how strong these colors are with removal. the 3 lifegain isn't all that worth mentioning. Light & Shadows good protections and returning a creature is nice. bonus points for pinging something for 2 DO NOT underestimate how useful this 2 damage can be! you can gib dorks, annonying creatures that arn't ever going to attack, redirect the damage to a planeswalker - theres a lot of good this sword can do you.įeast & Famine this could actually be -more- useful then fire and ice in the right decks, as the land untaps are insanely strong - and combo with aggro-assault! the protections are pretty relevent in commander, and your opponant discarding a card can be neat, especially if your hitting someone with one card in-hand. I run them all- whats stopping you from running them all? i feel like in order, there įire & Ice its draw is insanely useful, plus its protections are pretty relevent.
